
Unemployment Still Falling in North Central Washington, State
Unemployment rates fell last month across the region, state, and nation.
According to data from the Employment Security Department, the non-seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for February fell to 4.3% in Washington State and 3.8% overall in the United States.
Locally, Chelan County fell by two tenths of a percent to 6.2%, while Douglas County's unemployment dropped by four tenths of a percent to 6.4%. Grant County also saw a four tenths of a percent reduction, ending at 8.1% in January. Okanogan County's unemployment rate slightly fell to 8.5%.
Washington State gained almost 32,000 jobs last month, let by government hiring, education and health services, and leisure and hospitality.
