Update: The victim recovered from the lake was Kelly Ellingson, 41 years old, of Moses Lake.

Law enforcement responded to a call around 9:30 Thursday morning at Blue Heron Park in Moses Lake for a possible drowning.

Grant County Sheriff's PIO Kyle Foreman said a female witness saw a fisherman go into the water but never surface.

After a few hours of searching the victim had not been located, so the situation turned into a recovery effort. The Columbia Basin Dive Rescue Team from the Tri-cities arrived around 3:45 in the afternoon to assist with recovery.

It's likely the victim may not have been wearing a flotation device, a suspicion law enforcement can verify once they locate the body.

The identity of the fisherman is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
