Vandal Strikes Pro-Police Wenatchee Billboard

A pro-police department billboard in Wenatchee was vandalized over the weekend.

Police Captain Brian Chance says the "ACAB" message painted on the billboard stands for "All Cops Are Bastards."

"This is a crimes. It would be malicious mischief for damaging or defacing property dependent upon the cost to repair or replace the billboard would determine the level of crime."

Chance says they will defend freedom of speech, but that it is against the law to damage property with graffiti.

Capt. Chance says it was disappointing to see the damage.

"In this particular instance, while it is refreshing to see pro-law enforcement statements within our community where I do believe we are greatly supported by our local community, we will not approach investigation or handling of this incident any differently simply because it's a pro-law enforcement message."

The billboard was in south Wenatchee near Stan's Merry Mart, however Wenatchee Police aren't sure who financed the message nor are there cameras in the area for police to track down the culprits.
