A paving company that had claimed to be from Moses Lake scammed a Wenatchee woman and three of her neighbors. Our news partner, iFiberone, reported that Joni Eller, a victim in the scam, was approached by individuals who claimed to work for United Paving of Moses Lake on September 16. After the scam, Eller found that the address given for the business wasn't valid and belonged to an RV resort.

According to Eller, the group originally gave her an estimate of $2,500 but later it was raised to a total of $4,410. Total, her and her three neighbors shelled out about $15,000 for one day of work. Eller also told iFiberone, the crew destroyed her driveway.

This is considered a civil dispute so the Wenatchee Police Department do not get involved. The crew was recently in Dryden and headed off to Tri-Cities. The individuals only accept cash or check and the payment is requested to be made out to a William Gallagher.
