Wenatchee to Remain in Hybrid Model for Rest of School Year

Wenatchee Superintendent Dr. Paul Gordon informed the School Board Tuesday of the district's reopening plan for the remainder of the school year and beyond.

"So let me be clear about our intentions for the remainder of the 2020-21 school year." stated Gordon, "It's to stay the course with hybrid instruction through the 2020-21 school year and continue with our (Wenatchee Internet Academy) option as well."

Gordon added that the Wenatchee School District is a leader in terms of returning students responsibly because their safe approach to bringing students back has been continuous, methodical, and successful.

The district cited the six foot social distancing requirement from multiple agencies as a major reason for not moving to full in-person instruction this school year, although the intention is to begin the 2021-22 school year in a full in-person model.
