The Wish Poosh campground on Lake Cle Elum will be closing until next season for improvements.

The campground will close next Monday, September 7th, and work will continue through next May.

Okanogan Wenatchee National Forest Public Information Officer Deborah Kelly said the work is part of the Cle Elum Reservoir Pool Raise Project, where the plan is to raise the level of the water three feet.

"They will be paving the boat launch and the parking area, adding a new vault toilet, and getting a new access road out to the well house." explained Kelly, "Also, they are installing a new culvert to promote some improved fish migration up Davis Creek."

Public and private shoreline protection projects around the reservoir will continue until 2025.
