Woman Rescued from Icicle Creek After 15 Minutes Underwater

A paddleboarder is fighting for life after an accident on Icicle Creek near Blackbird Island in Leavenworth Friday afternoon.

According to Chelan County Sheriff's Department Sergeant Andy Zimmerman, a 56-year-old woman was on a paddleboard when it flipped. Whether she was knocked unconscious or somehow became trapped is unclear, but she remained underwater for about 15 minutes.

Zimmerman said, "Cascade medics and deputies managed to get the person unstuck and taken to the shore, and performed whatever medical procedures they could to try and save the person."

Emergency responders were eventually able to gain a pulse. The woman was taken to the hospital and her condition is currently unknown.
