A 16-year-old armed robbery suspect is in custody after an investigation that lasted over three months.

Quincy police say the suspect robbed a gas station in Quincy October 18th of last year, but fled town before law enforcement's arrival.

Captain Ryan Green stated that through surveillance video and tips from community members throughout Grant County, investigators were able to identify the suspect.

"Our investigators worked up the case and were able to establish probable cause." explained Green, "We sent a report over to the Grant County Prosecutor's Office, who in turn got an arrest warrant out for this 16-year-old. Then yesterday, our investigators tracked him to a house in the Mattawa area."

The young suspect was arrested after a brief standoff at a home in the 600 block of Williams Avenue. He will be charged with 1st Degree Robbery and unlawful possession of a firearm.

Quincy police received help from the Mattawa Police Department, Royal City Police, and the Grant County Sheriff's Office.
