The Apple Acres fire is 45% contained with a reduction in acreage to 5,880 acres as of Thursday morning. According to public information officer, Wayne Patterson, crews made good progress on all sides of the fire Wednesday.

"There was a five acre slop over from the evening before (Tuesday) where the fire had spitted across lines. They got caught that and did a little bit of a burn out at the top of Union Valley Road to tie that slop over into the main fire," said Patterson. "They're feeling really good about where things are at with that fire."

Chelan County reduced the evacuation levels to Level 1 as of Thursday morning.
