Body of Missing Man Found in Banks Lake

The body of a man that had been missing since jumping from a boat into Banks Lake on a family outing August 30th was recovered Friday morning.

Grant County Sheriff's PIO Kyle Foreman said a fisherman notified authorities after discovering the remains of 21-year-old Dmytro Demchuck of Auburn around 8:00 am.

"After his body didn't resurface, sheriff's deputies along with aircraft, other boats, and the man's family searched the waters for several days afterward with no results," explained Foreman.

The body was recovered by the Grant County Sheriff's Marine Unit and transferred to the County Coroner Craig Morrison. An autopsy is scheduled for next week.
