The Cashmere City Council is considering the possibility of extending the downtown speed limit, 15 mph, to include Aplets Way Monday evening. The decision was prompted by safety concerns that surfaced from a traffic pattern.

"One of the things we've noticed over time, is traffic coming in off Highway 2 on Aplets kind of comes into town a little fast because we're used to being out on the highway," said Mayor Jim Fletcher. "So they're coming into that circle of ours maybe a little faster than I'd like to see."

In an effort to improve the safety, the possible speed limit extension would be that one direction, southbound on Aplets Way.
