The Douglas County Auditor's Office received a federal grant recently through the Secretary of State's office.

Thad Duvall says the grant was available due to the pandemic.

"Specifically to make sure that elections can be conducted in a safe manner in our current environment. What we did is expand our office space into a storage area that's adjacent, just behind the elections on the 2nd floor of the Courthouse in Waterville."

They also added plexiglass between the work stations as well.

Duvall says they have been getting a steady and strong response so far in terms of ballot returns for the primary.
