A memorial for law enforcement officers that died while in the line of duty stopped by Ephrata to visit the Grant County Sheriff's Office Friday.

Chairman of Beyond the Call of Duty, Ride to Remember JC Shah says they are hoping to honor hundreds police officers, sheriff's deputies and more.

"These are not just names or numbers. These are human beings. They're fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, grandparents. All loved ones."

On the truck was a picture of Grant County Sheriff Deputy Jon Melvin who died in December.

Shah says this is a yearly event.

"This year we'll be hitting and going to 194 departments around the nation, 22,500 miles, honoring 338 law enforcement officers."

The stop in Ephrata was the first in a multi-state tour for the End of Watch Ride to Remember.

They will be in Western Washington then move on to Nevada and Utah.
