Ephrata Man Dies at Birthday Party
A 27-year-old Ephrata man, David Blackman, died Saturday after getting into a fight at a birthday party Friday night.
Grant County Sheriff's Spokesman Kyle Foreman says they were called to a home on the 1100 block of State Route 28 West where they found Blackman unconscious receiving CPR from partygoers.
"Live saving efforts were continued by the ambulance crew. [They] took him to Columbia Basin Hospital in Ephrata. He was subsequently transferred by helicopter to Confluence Health in Wenatchee where he passed away on Saturday morning."
The Sheriff's Office is investigating what led to the altercation, and what might have caused Blackman's death.
"There were no weapons involved. Detectives have interviewed everyone and have a basic idea of what transpired, however they are going to wait for the autopsy results from the coroner to know the exact cause and manner of death."
Blackman's body is at the Chelan County Coroner's office who will conduct an autopsy on Thursday.
