Fire Destroys Cenex Supply Building in Royal Camp

The old Cenex supply building in the community of Royal Camp, east of Royal City is a complete loss after a fire Saturday night around 9 p.m.

Grant County Sheriff's Public Information Officer Kyle Foreman says arriving crews were immediately forced to go into a defensive fight.

"Which means that you're only fighting the fire from the outside of the building, no one is going inside. It was a large square footage building and it was a total loss by the time they got the fire out along with some nearby vehicles. Nobody was hurt. The cause is under investigation by the Grant County Fire Marshal."

Crews were able to keep the fire away from nearby brush, limiting the damage to the building and nearby vehicles.
