Grant County Sheriff Will Not Seek Re-election

Grant County Sheriff Tom Jones will not seek re-election later this year.

Jones said in a statement Tuesday that after communication and prayer with his family, he made the decision to not seek a fourth term as sheriff. He was first elected sheriff in 2010. After finishing his service in the Navy, Jones began his career in law enforcement in 1992 as a member of the Soap Lake Police Department.

He joined the Grant County Sheriff's Office five years later. Jones' term as sheriff will end December 31st of this year.
