Link has been providing a Lake Chelan shuttle service between Lakeside, downtown Chelan and Don Morse Park since July, but will soon cease operations after next Saturday, September 7. The shuttle service could be familiar with patrons as the 'Summer Fun Bus'.

"They kinda do an overflow parking assistance, letting people park at the high school and take the shuttle to the parks," said Eric West, Communications Director.

According to West, the shuttle fell below what was expected for ridership, however Link is still considering implementing the service again next summer.  The tweak for next summer will be to focus more heavily on attracting residents for ridership rather than solely vacationers using the service to access the parks.

"We're going to retool that pretty extensively and see how we can up the ridership, make it a little bit more targeted toward the residents of Chelan rather than the park-goers because that's a really tough market to tap into," said West.

So next Saturday is the last day to catch a ride on the Summer Fun Bus until next summer when possibly routes extend to places like Walmart or the clinic as West predicts.
