Link Transit is attempting to engage the community in several different ways including an online survey, in-person outreach events and a virtual town hall via Facebook Live Wednesday at noon.

Communications Coordinator Eric West said the town hall is an opportunity for people to asking questions and provide feedback, including on the idea of Link adopting a fare-free system permanently. Link has been fare-free for about a year due to the pandemic.

"Our fares are such a small percentage of our overall revenue that, I don't want to say they're inconsequential, but three percent of a $17 million budget is $300,000-$400,000 a year, maybe a little bit more if we're back to full ridership. So it's not a great deal of money that we are talking about in the big picture," explained West.

Staff and consultants will be available for the town hall.

Link Transit staff will also be conducting in-person outreach at the following locations and times.
• 10 am to 2 pm Monday, March 15 Pybus Public Market
• 9 am to 1:30 pm Tuesday, March 16 Leavenworth Safeway
• 2 pm to 5:30 pm Wednesday, March 17 Martin's Market in Cashmere
• 10 am to 5 pm Thursday, March 18 East Wenatchee City Hall
• 10:30 am to 2:30 pm Friday, March 19 Tienda Mexicana Laundroma, Wenatchee
• 10 am to 4 pm Saturday, March 20 Carniceria Los Compadres, Wenatchee

Feedback from the various forms of outreach will then have some bearing on Link's decision making going forward.
