Moses Lake city council is looking to appoint a new city manager in early December and wants to include the community in the final stretch of the search. The city is hosting a reception on November 18 from 7-9 at the Civic Center for locals to meet the final four candidates and ask questions.

The candidates' names will be released next week, the week of November 12.

"It's a reception for the community to be able to be able to come and interact with the candidates, ask them questions, spend a little time talking to them, see what their personality is like," said Kevin Fuhr.

Folks in attendance can fill out comment cards to provide input which could factor into the decision making process for selecting the city manager. Candidates' will also participate in three interview panels that will consist of citizens, business owners, councilmembers and department directors.

"The following day (November 19) the council will review the candidates' information, talk to the panelists about the interview process and also look at the comment cards as they're making their decisions," said Fuhr.

The candidate selected after the interview process will undergo a background investigation and the goal is for the new city manager to start in early January.
