Moses Lake Police say K9 Chief Expected Home Wednesday
The Moses Lake Police Department says that K9 officer Chief underwent a successful surgery to remove his damaged eye with no complications and is scheduled to be released Wedneday from the WSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital in Pullman.
The Department says Chief will receive a police escort home by members of Spokane and Pullman PD, Spokane and Grant County Sheriff's Offices and of course the Moses Lake Police Department.
They anticipate arrival in Moses Lake between 12:30 and 1 p.m. Wednesday and there will be a procession down Pioneer Way.
They also say it is undetermined if Chief will be able to return to service, but that if he can't, he'll retire as a hero.
A GoFundMe page has raised more than $12,000 as of Wednesday morning to help cover his medical expenses.
