FRIDAY UPDATE:

Chelan and Douglas Counties released their second round of results Friday afternoon. In mayoral races, Jerrilea Crawford leads Tim Detering by more than 200 votes and has nearly 55 percent in the race for East Wenatchee mayor. Bob Goedde leads Mike Cooney by 85 votes in Chelan's mayor race. Jim Fletcher will win re-election as Cashmere's mayor with more than 65 percent of the vote. Michael Buckingham will be the next mayor of Entiat notching about 61 percent. Carl Florea [floor-ee] is well on his way to be Leavenworth's next mayor with nearly 56 percent of the vote. The closest race on Tuesday was for Waterville mayor which was separated by two votes. After Friday's results Jill Daling Thomson now leads by 11 votes at nearly 52 percent.

In the race for Wenatchee city council Linda Herald expanded her lead over Jorge Chacon and will win that seat. Travis Hornby is looking more and more like the winner of his race with Melanie Wachholder and Jose Cuevas has a more than 100 vote lead over Robert Vargas-Mata.

In the races for Eastmont School Board, Cindy Wright holds nearly 62 percent of the vote over Sasha Sleiman [slay-men]. Whitney Smith looks to the be the choice for the open Director 2 position with more than double the vote totals of Nathan Medeiros. And Meaghan Vibbert has nearly 60 percent of the vote in the race for Director 5.

For Wenatchee School Board, Tim Larson maintained his roughly 600 vote advantage over Karina Vega-Villa. Laura Jaecks will win her re-election race. And the voters will place Martin Barron on the board over current President Sunny Hemphill.

Chelan County estimates 3,600 votes are still left to count. Douglas County estimates 2,450 ballots left to count.

Here are election results from North Central Washington and issues of statewide interest from the Washington Secretary of State's Office.

Mayoral races were of great interest in the General Election Tuesday and Jerrilea Crawford leads Tim Detering by 85 votes in the East Wenatchee Mayor's race and challengers Bob Goedde  and Mike Buckingham were both leading in the Mayor's races in Chelan and Entiat.  Jim Fletcher,  who was appointed Cashmere Mayor received 64% of the preliminary tally and in the open Leavenworth Mayor's race, Carl Florea leads Scott Bradshaw by 29 votes, 53% to 47%.  The Waterville Mayor's race is even closer, with Jill Thompson leading Loyd Smith by two votes.

Jose Luis Cuevas was leading Roberto Vargas-Mata with 61% of the vote in the newly created District 1 on the Wenatchee City Council.  Travis Hornby was leading with 58% for the District 4 seat and Linda Herald will retain a seat on the council, easily outpacing Jorge Chacon with 63% of the vote.

The Wenatchee and Eastmont School Board races appear to have been settled.  Veteran Wenatchee School Board member Laura Jaecks held a comfortable margin of 1,213 votes over Meliesa Tigard, challenger Martin Barron will unseat incumbent Sunny Hemphill with nearly 65% of the vote and Tim Larson, who dropped out of the race too late to remove his name from the ballot was outpolling Karina Vega-Villa by more than 600 votes.  Eastmont School Board winners were Meaghan Vibbert, Cindy Wright and Whitney Smith.  Christine Johnson garnered 67% of Tuesday's vote for East Wenatchee City Council, Pos. 6 in the race with Marl Kane.

Results are preliminary as of Tuesday evening and will be updated by election officials on Friday, Nov. 8th
