The Bureau of Land Management has alerted Douglas County Commissioners of a 90 acre under burn that is expected to have one to two day duration. This is in preparation for herbicide and seeding treatments to aid native plant restoration objectives. A letter from the BLM stated that when the burn occurs a temporary closure of the area will be in effect as a cautionary measure to public safety. There will be surveillance of smoke from the project in case of impact to local roads. If needed, road signs and road guards will aid traffic. Burton Draw Road could be temporarily closed.
