The suspect in the shooting death of 18-year-old Juan Carlos Diaz Guerrero Jr. in Quincy last month is in custody after turning himself in early Wednesday morning.

Quincy Police Captain Ryan Green said 18-year-old Horacio Morales Perez turned himself into the Grant County Jail around 12:40 am.

"We've been working with the U.S. Marshal's Service to try and locate him." Green said, "Marshals had lined up a $1,000 reward for his arrest."

Police are working with the Grant County Prosecutor's Office and are continuing to gather information on the case.

Morales Perez allegedly shot Diaz Guerrero Jr. near the old junior high building on C Street SE March 23rd.

According to police, Morales Perez is affiliated with a local gang.
