Quincy Man Dies in Fatal Accident

A Quincy man died Friday morning when his Honda Accord lost a tire and then rolled in the area of Road 9 NW and Road H NW.

The Grant County Sheriff's Office says 22-year-old Augustine Gallegos Jr. was driving at a high rate of speed when his left rear tire blew out causing his car to off the side of the road and start rolling.

Gallegos was not wearing his seat belt and was ejected from the car.

Medical personnel attempted life-saving efforts, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the accident.

The vehicle is considered destroyed.
