A wanted man in a stolen vehicle led Ephrata Police officers and Grant County Sheriff's deputies on a chase Monday afternoon around 4:30.

PIO Kyle Foreman said the events unfolded after an off-duty Ephrata Police officer spotted what he believed to be a stolen 1995 Honda Civic being driven by 25-year-old Anthony Yates of Ephrata.

"The off-duty officer called 9-1-1 and requested assistance." Foreman explained, "Sheriff's deputies and Ephrata Police officers responded to the area of Dodson Road and Road 10 NW where they made contact with the vehicle."

A pursuit ensued that lasted around seven minutes.

Yates eventually pulled over in the 13000 block of Road A NW and surrendered to law enforcement. He was lodged in the Grant County Jail for possession of a stolen vehicle and four district court warrants. The vehicle was returned to its owner.
