Washington Ranks No. 17 For Most Robocalls in US
Many folks have hung up in annoyance over the last year as the number of robocalls have spiked in Washington state, specifically by 10% since 2015 according to a study from Provision Living. Provision Living extracted data from the Federal Trade Commission's National Do Not Call Registry to analyze robocall complaints in every state to spot which state had the highest frequency of these pesky calls.
"Washington ranked 17 as the hardest hit state in 2019," said Matt Zajechowski, content strategist. "Washington residents filed 126,000 robocall complaints."
According to Zajechowski, over the span of five years, Washington ranked 25th for most robocalls with 580,000 complaints.
The top three robocalls Washingtonians received in 2019 were debt reduction calls, imposters and people calling about vacation and timeshare rentals.
