Wenatchee School District to Distribute Fresh Produce from Farmer’s Market

The Community Foundation of North Central Washington recently formed a very interesting partnership between the Wenatchee School District and the Wenatchee Valley Farmer's Market.

WSD Communications Director Diana Haglund said, starting July 6th, fresh fruit and vegetables will be available Mondays at Lincoln Elementary during their meal service from 11:00 to 12:30 pm.

Haglund said, "Every Saturday a staff member from our district will go and pick up any remaining produce that was not sold at the farmer's market and bring that to Lincoln Elementary."

The produce will change week to week depending on what's available.

More information regarding the new program is expected from the district.
