In person instruction will resume this fall, however will be conducted somewhat non-traditionally, such as enforcing students, staff to wear masks. Wenatchee superintendent, Dr. Paul Gordon, added his two cents on how in person instruction will be approached next fall given the new guidelines and the obstacles up ahead.

"First and foremost, the six feet distance when you're talking about classrooms and desks and teaching space. All those pieces, that's going to be challenging," said Dr. Gordon.

Dr. Gordon also touched on the difficulty of enforcing the mask policy, particularly for the little ones.

"Thinking of a five year old, six year old having to keep a mask on their mouth all day long," said Dr. Gordon. "It could be on, but it could be on their foot, their head, it could be a 50 different places by the end of the day."

Superintendents across the state, including Dr. Gordon, discussed new safety standards with State Superintendent Chris Reykdal Tuesday afternoon for more clarity and direction.

"The most important thing that we have to focus on is ensuring that our students are getting a great education," said Dr. Gordon.
