The Wenatchee Valley Humane Society (WVHS) announced Monday that they have found a new Executive Director in Taylor Sharp.

Sharp is replacing Dawn Davies, who is retiring in June after 10 years with the Wenatchee Valley Humane Society.

WVHS' newest hire said she began work with Best Friends Animal Society in 2015 as mainly their Pacific Regional specialist.

"My territory was the five states in the west, so Alaska, California, Hawaii, Oregon and Washington. That's how Dawn and I met each other. Dawn was doing incredible things here and it was kind of this beaming light in Washington and I really wanted to capitalize on that." said Sharp, "So I reached out and we touched base and we've been working together since then."

In 2019, Sharp was selected as Maddie's Fund Executive Leadership Fellow at Humane Society Silicon Valley. Sharp is also co-founder and secretary of the pet Alliance of Washington, a statewide organization designed to bring shelters together and increase Live Release Rates.
