The Wenatchee Valley Humane Society is telling pet owners that just like this poor air quality if bad for us, it is also bad for our pets.

Development Officer Renee Parkins says dogs, cats and bunnies can have the same kind of respiratory issues as humans from too much exposure to the smoke.

"If you can have your pets inside, try to do that. Try to keep them in a place where you can at least put a box fan and a filter and try to keep them safe."

For livestock like cows and horses, it is more challenging according to Parkins.

"If you can keep them in a place that's going to be at least out of the main air. It might have filtration, even a box fan; that would be the best for them."

If you have any questions or concerns, contact your veterinarian.
