Wenatchee Valley College is rolling out pharmacy technician courses in January 2020. The application deadline is near, December 13th, so the college is hosting an information session on the program next Wednesday, December 4th.

"We don't have this type of a program, you look at a 100 mile radius from here to the Canadian border, here to Spokane, Yakima, Everett, there isn't a program like this available at a college," said John Simons,  pharmacy technician. "It's really exciting there's going to be that opportunity to fill that void in the community."

The program is designed to be flexible and offers evenings and weekend courses. There is a one year certification with a recommended two year associate's degree, making the program a timely option.

"When we envisioned this program, we understood the realities of life and candidates applying to this position would have existing jobs," said Nicole Dimaano, Confluence Health Pharmacy and helped lead the program launch.

The information session will begin at 4 p.m. in the Wenatchi Hall 2105.
